Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies

These chocolate chip cookies are the BEST!
I got this recipe from my sister in law after I couldn't stop eating all of hers.
I made them for Elevate and the ladies got to take them home fresh out of the oven with some milk and Choose Joy bracelets from Ashley of Lil Blue Boo.
Before I share the recipe, the thing that makes these-in my opinion of course-is the Guittard Milk Chocolate Chips I use.
I went grocery shopping when I first got down to Huntington Beach to get my ingredients for the cookies and when I couldn't find Guittard at Pavilions, I started having a full blown-pregnant lady panic attack. My mom called another Vons for me and we drove to the next one to find them. Summer and Nichole just laughed and laughed saying the chocolate chips wouldn't affect my cookies that much and then I made them try them.
They are larger than other chocolate chips and just so delish, so if you need help finding these let me know!
I will call grocery stores for you!
You need:
1 lb butter {4 sticks}
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups brown sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
3 eggs
Combine these ingredients together first and then sift in:
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
5 1/2-6 cups flour
Super easy!
Then mix in 1 1/2-2 bags of Guittard Chocolate Chips.
Bake @375 for 8-10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
See how poofy they get?!
They are done when they are golden and crackle on top.
Try these, you will love them!

Fake It 'Til You Make It

A few months ago...ok more like a lot of months ago around Christmas, I asked Mr. J for some red high heels.
We went to Aldo and not only did I see some red ones I loved, I saw coral ones that I loved also.
I debated and went with the red because I thought they would match with more.
Fast forward 6 months and I ran into Forever 21 to try to find a pair of shoes for Elevate and I found these!
So, fake it til you make it, or just don't want to spend a bunch of money on a pair of coral heels!
And this is me at 33 weeks just plugging along getting more and more excited for this new little one!

Necklace-Brag About It

About my necklace, Melissa from Brag About It, designed these for Elevate! They turned out beautiful! Her stuff is absolutely amazing and so well made. She is really sweet and great to work with. I'm not going to lie, I let it sit in its pretty little box for a good week because I was so nervous to wear it. It was like Christmas morning when I finally put it on. She is frequently offering great deal codes on her facebook page, so go over and check her out if you aren't a fan yet!

Father's Day Golf Party

As far back as I can remember and before I could really voice my opinions, my birthday parties were held at the golf course my dad belonged to. Luckily my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd birthday parties were videotaped and plenty of pictures were taken so I know my birthday parties were there also.
My sister and I dressed in matching, one of a kind boutique dresses with our hair perfectly curled and big bows on top of our heads.
We'd sit on a blanket with our bag of frozen veggies because we thought those were "treats" and be entertained by our mom and grandma.
We'd cheer on our big brothers (remember we have 5 older ones) and our daddy while they hit at the driving range.
When we grew a little bit, we were signed up for golf lessons, which we later traded for gymnastics and cheer competitions.
My dad doesn't have a cell phone. He is unreachable while he is golfing. I don't really think he ever had to ask for permission to go golfing. I love it that way. I love it that my mom let him have that. Random sidenote, my mom's dad had a heart attack on the 18th hole while playing with her and my dad and a few days later passed away. Golf is a big deal in our family.
My parents backyard is huge and my dad drives the ball into the hills behind our house, chips around the yard and has an Augusta flag pole and hole in the yard. He has been to St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines, Augusta, and many more that I'm spacing on at the moment. He always brought home that sweet golf course grass smell and when I think of my dad and the life lessons he's taught me, I can always relate them to golf.
We call him our Pro Joe and he is one sweetheart of a man.
{him and his Jennie-the-Rose about 20 years ago and then 5 years ago}
When I asked my sister in law to help with a Father's Day dinner, I knew exactly what the theme for the dessert table had to be. My brother and husband both golf so it went with all of the guys we were celebrating.
I used the same cake stands from a baby shower I did a while ago, slabbed some astroturf on top and poked tees through to holes that had been drilled. Note to self or anyone who wants powdered donuts. They are hard to find for some reason. After driving to 3 donut shops and 2 grocery stores, I rolled glazed ones in powdered sugar.
I used not even an eighth of what we have golf decor wise at our house. I pulled in the golf lamp table that you can putt the golf ball into and it pops back out to you, a vintage golf chess set, golf clock, vintage set of clubs and a golf lamp. I grabbed a bunch of trophies my dad has won over the years and set them by a picture he painted. Sadly, the majority of trophies he had received shattered and were ruined in the 1994 earthquake in Southern California. My dad really enjoys reading so in came some golf books, taking them out didn't even make a dent in his golf section. We had soda in the coordinating colors and my sister in law printed out a little sign that said "par-tee."
I wanted to keep the desserts simple so we did:
*dirt divot brownies
*sand trap cupcakes
*golf ball cake balls
*chocolate "chip it in" cookies
*tee-rific donut holes
I will be posting the delicious cookie recipe soon.
My dad and husband loved it! It was totally my dad's style, classy and somewhat vintage. I think he loved seeing his painting up and his trophies out. By the end of the day, my ankles were so puffy. 6 more weeks until we meet this little peanut! Hope everyone had a great Father's Day celebrating the great men in your life!
