If you need a quick, unique holiday pie I'm posting a recipe for one over at Jessica's...
Please go tell her hi and to get better soon! I'm so blessed to be able to contribute on her blog!
You need to check it out, because you will want to make it for Thanksgiving!

Here is what I posted last month for Halloween:
Our Oreo spider...
Does it look like it was made by a 4 1/2 year old?
The answer is yes it does, and yes it was.
This darling 4 year old.
Here is a confession and I will only say it once:
You know how men sometimes have a problem handing over the channel changer?
I always have a huge problem handing over the measuring cups, spoons, ingredients, butter knife...

you get the point, I suck at sharing in the kitchen.
I decided we would "boo" some of sweet boy's friends and he should probably help since they are "his" buddies.
Homemade Oreos:
2 packages Devil's Food Cake Mix
1 1/2 cup of shortening {Crisco}
4 eggs
2 TBSP milk
Cream ingredients together. Roll into balls and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 9 minutes. I sometimes let it go for 10-11 minutes. I also make them pretty small and I end up with at least 60 cookies.
Let them cook until they crackle on top!
Start making the frosting while they are baking. I'm obsessed with this frosting, it is so delicious!
Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 package cream cheese
2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup butter {softened}
Cream ingredients together, frost one cookie and top it with another.
For spider:
Give a child twizzlers pull n peel and let them pull it, break off the pieces for legs, put them on where they want, and watch while they concentrate on the masterpiece they're creating. Be ready for your heart to melt when they tell you this is the best and you are the coolest for letting them help, and give yourself a swift kick in the behind for being mom of the year...Not!

It's the best spider/crab/jellyfish I've ever seen.
We boo'ed our friends with homemade oreos, store bought oreos and pumpkin popcorn balls from Momma's Kinda Crafty and the printable is from The TomKat Studio so go get on your boo-ing!
Obviously you don't need the spider now, but the cookies are delish!
